The Role of the Media in Shaping Jordanians’ attitudes towards Refugee Issues
(The issue of Syrian refugees as a model)
Abstract
The issue of Syrian refugees is an important issue for Jordanian society, given the political, economic and social repercussions this issue represents for the Kingdom of Jordan. There is also a relationship of interdependence and brotherhood between the Jordanian people and the Syrian people, and the issues of Syrian refugees receive global attention by the media, and this is the result of the exacerbation of the crisis The increase in the number of Syrian refugees in the host countries, the deterioration of their living conditions, and the deterioration of their situation in the camps.
This study aims at sketching out the:
- Identifying the role of the media in clarifying the dimensions of the Syrian refugee issue to the Jordanian public.
- Learn how the media confronts the crisis of the Syrian refugee issue in the Kingdom.
- Disclosure of media sources in shaping public attitudes towards the issue of Syrian refugees in Jordan.
- Exposing the extent of public exposure to the issue of Syrian refugees in the media in Jordan.
- Learn about the importance of the issue of Syrian refugees in Jordan and how the media in the Kingdom dealt with it.
The study problem:
The problem of the study stems from the fact that it is an issue of great importance on the international and global level, and it has great importance for the Kingdom of Jordan, which is the issue of Syrian refugees. Therefore, the current study seeks to identify the role of the media in shaping Jordanians' attitudes towards the issues of Syrian refugees.
