Risks and Challenges facing the Computerization of the Arabic Language on the World Wide Web

Abstract

The importance of the Arabic language stems from the fact that it is the vessel of Islam, and the language of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet. Al-Sidawi mentioned in his book “Language and People” that the first person to wear the word Arabs in its national dress was the Holy Qur’an, and he made it a term that indicates nationalism.

This study aims to: clarify the reality of the Arabic language on the World Wide Web, and find out the extent of the spread of the Arabic language on this network, as well as knowing the capabilities offered by the network to serve the Arabic language and its future prospects.

Through this paper, we are trying to identify the obstacles that stand in the way of the launch and development of the Arabic language and its acquisition of wider spaces on the World Wide Web compared to other languages.

This study came in an introduction and two chapters, dealing in the introduction: the importance of the Arabic language and its global status.

The first topic: I dealt with the reality of the Arabic language on the World Wide Web "Internet" and the most important internal risks that prevent its spread.

The second topic dealt with the external risks and challenges that limited the spread of the Arabic language electronically, and how to overcome them.

The study concluded with the most important recommendations, results, solutions and suggestions in order to overcome the difficulties and increase the space of the Arabic language on the World Wide Web.
