The Impact of Strategic Planning on Institutional Performance in Government Departments and Institutions in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the impact of strategic planning on institutional performance in government departments and institutions in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This was done through the descriptive analytical method, where the study sample included (300) administrative employees (director, assistant director, department head, administrative employee) in Jordanian government departments and institutions. The data were collected through the study tool (the questionnaire) and randomly distributed to the study sample. Using statistical analysis, the study found that there is a statistically significant effect at the level of significance (5% ≤ α) for the vision and mission on institutional performance in Jordanian government departments and institutions, as it was found that strategic objectives, follow-up, and evaluation of the plan affect institutional performance. At the same time, there was no effect Statistically significant for projects and executive programs on institutional performance. Finally, the study recommends increasing attention to strategic planning, as strategic planning is a fundamental approach to improving and developing institutional performance in institutions and government departments from various aspects.
