The Level of Volunteering Motivation and its Relationship to Social Responsibility According to Some Variables among a Sample of Female Students of The College of Education in Majmaah
Abstract
The study aimed to identify the relationship between the motivation to volunteer and social responsibility among a sample of volunteers at the College of Education in Majmaah in the light of some variables.
The study used the descriptive correlative approach. Two tools were applied: the volunteer motivation scale and the social responsibility scale prepared by the two researchers on a randomly selected sample of (70) female volunteers. After analyzing the data using the (SPSS) program, the study reached the following results: - There are high positive trends towards social responsibility at the level of the overall degree of the scale as a whole. The value of the arithmetic mean was 147.37 with a standard deviation of (16.059). This value indicates a high degree and a large positive trend towards social responsibility. The results also revealed that there are no statistical differences between female volunteers and they are motivated towards volunteering according to their social status, economic level and joining work. The results also concluded that there is a strong direct relationship between the two scales, and all the values of the correlation coefficients are significant at the level (0.01 = α), which means that the greater the value of volunteering motivation among the students, the greater their social responsibility, and the value of the statistical significance, which amounted to (0.00), which confirms the possibility of predictability. The two researchers concluded the study with a number of recommendations, the most important of which is the development of female students’ attitudes in Saudi universities towards voluntary work and the establishment of voluntary centers to work in them affiliated with the universities.
