The Challenges Faced by the Principals in Public Secondary School in the Arab Regions in Beersheb
(An empirical study)
Abstract
This article explored the challenges faced by principals in public secondary schools in the Arab regions in Beersheba. It aimed to set solutions for addressing such challenges. The population consists from all the public secondary school principals in the Arab Regions in Beersheba. The researchers chose a purposive sample consisting from 30 female and male principals chosen from 30 public secondary schools in the Arab Regions in Beersheba. Data was obtained from them through the interview method. Interviews were carried out through Skype. They were recorded to analyse data later. Permissions to record interviews were taken from the interviewees. It was found that there are several challenges faced by principals in public secondary schools in the Arab regions in Beersheba. Those challenges include:1)-students-related challenges, 2)- parents- related challenges, 3)- teachers- related challenges, 4)- Administrative challenges, 5)-other challenges. For instance, the sampled principals suffer from the bad behaviours of students. They recommend developing programs for addressing the bad behaviours of students. They suffer from having a great work load enforced on them. They suggested reducing the number of tasks assigned to them.
