The Attitudes of Primary Public School Students in Amman towards Role Playing Strategy in Arabic Language Course
Abstract
The present study aimed to explore the attitudes of primary public school students in Amman towards role playing strategy in Arabic language course. A descriptive analytical Approach was adopted. A random sample was selected from eight public primary schools in Amman. It consists from 240 female and male 5th grade students. Questionnaire forms were distributed to those students by hand. All the forms were retrieved and considered valid for statistical analysis. The response rate is 100%. SPSS program was used and means and standard deviations were calculated. It was found that primary public school students in Amman have positive attitudes towards employing the role playing strategy in Arabic language course. It was found that the latter strategy motivates students to learn Arabic language. It was found that the latter strategy improves students’ academic achievement in Arabic language course and expands their knowledge about Arabic language grammar. The researcher recommends providing Arabic language teachers in primary public schools in Jordan with courses and workshops about Arabic language teaching methods and the way of implementing the role playing strategy.
