Eeffect of The Literature Circles Strategy on The Achievement of Literature and Texts o Second-Grade Intermediate Students
Abstract
This research aimed to identify the effect of the literary circles' strategy on the achievement of literature and texts of students of the second intermediate grade. To achieve the aim of the research, the researcher used the experimental design of the two equivalent groups (experimental and control), as the two classes (A and B) were randomly selected as a sample of research from the female students of second grade in Al-Amin intermediate school for girls that was chosen randomly, the two groups equivalence were in variables (age in months, intelligence, scores for past information, academic achievement for parents, grades of literature and texts for the mid- year 2017-2018) , t-test was calculated and the results were not significant, the students of the two groups studied the book of literature and texts for the second intermediate grade, the students of the experimental group studied using the strategy of literature circles and the students of the control group studied in the usual method , the statistical means were difficulty coefficient, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and the results showed statistically significant differences between the mean of scores In literature and texts between students of the experimental and control groups, in the benefit of students of the experimental group. In light of the results, the researcher concluded the effect of the literature circles strategy on the achievement of literature and texts for second-grade students, he recommended several recommendations, including the use of the literature circles strategy in teaching and training teachers to use it, and suggested a continuation of the current research using the strategy in other school stages and with other variables.
