Social Integration of Egyptian Armenians between both the National and the Patriotic Identities
(Sociological analysis)
Abstract
The study aimed to analyze the implications of the social integration of the Armenians of Egypt in light of the preservation of national identity through solidarity, and then to define the measures of "adaptation" to that national identity, and to what extent achieve the "integration" in the policies of the Egyptian state applying Recovery Methodology, Structural Analysis Methodology, Survey Questionnaire, and Expert Guide.
The study reached to important results one of which is the abstation of the Egyptian state to take any measures or enact any legislation that "forcibly integrate the Armenians into the Egyptian system. However, all Egyptian policies and practices stemmed from citizenship, and the Armenians were citizens of Egypt, with all rights and duties. The Armenian religious establishment has all its spiritual and temporal powers over its Armenian citizens in Egypt without any interference from the Egyptian authorities and without the antagonists of the Egyptian religious institutions (Such as Al-Azhar, or the Evangelical Evangelization), which effectively contributed to the preservation of the national identity and culture of the Armenians under the umbrella of the Organization Meh Egyptian.
