Al-Qassim: From Huraymila to the Stability of Saudi Rule

Abstract

The Qassim region, located in the heart of Najd, was a prominent agricultural, commercial, and religious center during the Second Saudi State, and a stage for complex political and social interactions that formed a significant legacy in the history of the Arabian Peninsula. Its strategic location at the crossroads of caravan routes and the fertile lands of Wadi Al-Rummah made it an economic and political pillar of the Second Saudi State, while its religious heritage, influenced by the call of Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, strengthened its position as an intellectual and cultural center.

This study examines the historical background of Al-Qassim during this period, focusing on its political, economic, social, and religious dynamics. It highlights its historical importance as a hub for Saudi stability and expansion, and as a fertile ground for religious reform and political resistance.
