Analysis of the Application Level of the (5s) Strategy in the Clothing Industry
Abstract
The ready-to-wear clothing industry is considered one of the important industries that play a prominent role in economic development. Considering the work environment is one of the fundamental principles to improve production processes. The 5S strategy is an important supporting system that aims to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of production operations in organizations and improve the organization and arrangement of workstations.
By organizing tools, equipment, and materials properly and identifying their appropriate placement, the focus is on improving systemization, cleanliness, and discipline in the work environment. When applying the 5S strategy in the ready-to-wear clothing industry, numerous benefits and improvements have been achieved. The significance of research is evident in its contribution to improving the work environment and achieving optimal utilization of available resources, in addition to familiarizing technical managers with the importance of implementing the 5S strategy in the clothing industry. The study used a descriptive-analytical approach to analyze the impact of the 5S strategy on improving the work environment. A sample of 11 managers and supervisors from Arfa Group factories was selected, and field visits were conducted to assess the implementation of the 5S strategy. A questionnaire was designed and evaluated by experts. The study found a positive relationship between implementing the 5S strategy and improving the work environment. Recommendations include adopting the 5S strategy in all its dimensions and implementing it clearly with top management support for optimal results.
