Digital Transformation and the Extent to Which Municipal Employees Accept this Transformation
Abstract
The study sought to know the impact of digital transformation on workers' job performance in the municipal sector and to provide recommendations and suggestions that enhance the role of digital transformation in improving job performance for workers in the municipal sector, where the study adopted the descriptive analytical method, where the study sample included (75) directors of the Department of Communications and Information Technology in the municipalities of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Where the results showed the presence of a statistically significant role at the significance level (5% ≤ α) for digital transformation with its dimensions (digital transformation strategy, organizational culture for digital transformation, transformational leadership for digital transformation, human resources) on the job performance of workers in the municipality sector operating in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Accordingly, the study recommended many recommendations, the most important of which is that the digital transformation within municipalities is not related to technology only but rather to redefining the work strategy of the municipalities altogether; it is a planned, strategic and organizational change, through the creation of new business models for municipal work sectors supported by technology.
