Developing Deanships of Student Affairs to Enhance International Student Mobility in Saudi Universities
Abstract
Objectives: The study aimed to identify the reality of the performance of deanships of student affairs to enhance international student mobility, and to determine the requirements for developing deanships of student affairs to enhance international student mobility in Saudi universities.
Method: The study used the descriptive survey method and applied the questionnaire to a sample of (285) individuals from the leadership of the deanships of student affairs and the administrative staff in the Saudi universities.
Results: the reality of the performance of student affairs deanships to enhance the international student movement in Saudi universities came to a low degree, as it comes after student services in first place, followed by student activities, and
The human, administrative, material, and technical requirements to develop the performance of the deanships of student affairs to enhance international student mobility obtained a very high degree of approval among the members of the study sample. These requirements include: internationalizing training for employees of the deanship, coordinating efforts between the deanship and academic departments to enhance international student mobility, and evaluating international students’ satisfaction with the services provided. The researcher reviewed the most prominent experiences in the deanships of student affairs by focusing on the services and activities.
Conclusion: Considering the results reached, the study recommends: working to develop student services and activities to enhance international student mobility, and providing the human, administrative, material, and technical requirements to develop the deanships of student affairs to enhance international student mobility in Saudi universities.
