الملخص
لم يوضح مؤلف مخطوطة "صفة للعهد المأخوذ على نصارى العرب" المجهول الغاية من مخطوطته ودوافع تأليفها إلا أنه من عنوانها يتبين لنا إنها تهدف إلى إفادة الراغبين بمعرفة الشروط والواجبات الملقاة على عاتق غير المسلمين من النصارى ضمن العهود المعطاة لهم، فالمخطوطة ضمت ثلاث نقاطٍ جوهرية هي موقف الرسول الكريم(صلى الله عليه وسلم) من نصارى نجران وعهد الخليفة عمر بن الخطاب(رضي الله عنه) لنصارى الشام بما فيه من شروطٍ تخص هيأتهم وسلوكياتهم وكنائسهم والضرائب المفروضة عليهم في المجتمع العربي الإسلامي نقلاً عن رواية عبدالرحمن بن غنم مع الإشارة إلى آراء العلماء وأحكامهم في ذلك وأقوال بعض الخلفاء فيما يخص التعامل مع ما فرض عليهم من شروط، ليذكر بعدها كتاب الخليفة عمر(رضي الله عنه) لقاضيه أبي موسى الأشعري في القضاء، ليعود وينقل نص كتاب الخليفة عمر(رضي الله عنه) إلى نصارى أهل الشام نقلاً عن سلسلة رواة آخرين تناقلوا النص عن عبد الرحمن بن غنم، وقد كرر بعض ما ذكرهُ من شروطٍ في بدء المخطوطة. اعتمد المؤلف على الكتب الفقهية والتاريخية التي تناولت سير الخلفاء الراشدين والمدن والأنساب.
